A day out...

This past Thursday I went up to London to meet some former colleagues for dinner. As I had got a morning train I had plenty of time before we met up to have a little wander around the shops. I went for a little look at the gorgeous fabric  in Liberty and bought these...some needles, pins a ruler and a cross-stitch kit.

Nice things from Liberty

They are for a little sewing project that I have in mind.

I also had a bite to eat at Flat Planet on Great Marlborough Street, just along from Liberty’s. The food was scrummy and for London, prices weren’t bad.

I then went to The Cloth House on Berwick Street and finally to Kleins on Noel Street. It was at Kleins that I found what I was looking for... strong webbing for bag handles. I have a plan for this webbing!

It is so nice to be able peruse haberdashery and look at fabric in person. I normally order from the internet as we don’t have these kind of shops around where we live.
I didn’t get home until nearly midnight but I had a great day out.

  1. Sounds like a truly lovely day in London with lots of good things!! Looking forward to seeing what you make with your purchases!! It must have been so nice to browse in the quilts/notions shops!! [I'm currently on a fabric diet, so none of that for me right now-- trying to use what I have and just buy notions as needed}. I like seeing the pictures of London and the shop!
